Key First Officer Responsibilities
- As a First Officer, you will assist the Captain in managing the yacht’s operations, ensuring safe and efficient navigation and operations at all times.
- You will supervise and coordinate the deck crew, ensuring that all deck operations are carried out safely and to the highest standards.
- You will oversee navigational duties, assisting the Captain with route planning, chart plotting, and ensuring safe passage during voyages.
- You will ensure that the yacht’s safety equipment is in proper working order, conducting regular checks and ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations.
- You will manage the vessel’s security, overseeing access control and ensuring the safety of guests, crew, and property.
- You will oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the yacht’s exterior, ensuring that the deck, hull, and equipment are kept in pristine condition.
- You will be responsible for maintaining the yacht’s logs and records, ensuring that all operational activities are accurately documented.
- You will assist in managing yacht operations in port, including docking, mooring, and handling tenders, ensuring safe and smooth arrivals and departures.
- You will work closely with the Captain to ensure smooth communication between the bridge and other departments, providing support as needed.
